H. Frances Ayling, age 93, of Adrian, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at her home. She was born on February 20, 1923 in Deerfield, MI. to Anthony and Katherine (Tomecek) Horak. On June 28, 1941, she married Raymond Ayling in Deerfield and he preceded her in death on September 21, 1999 after 58 years of marriage. She attended Deerfield High School. Frances worked at Hurd Lock, Champion Home Builders and retired from Buckeye Products. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, DAV Auxiliary Chapter 20 and Ladies of the Moose. Frances enjoyed dancing, playing cards, and for many years spent winter months in Florida with her husband, Raymond.
Frances is survived by one daughter, Sharon Caldwell of Adrian; two sons, Rodney Ayling of Adrian and Steven (Rebecca) Ayling of Brighton; one sister, Rose Beard of Blissfield; nine grandchildren, Dennis and Timothy Burch, Daniel Caldwell, Patrick, Matthew and Bradley Ayling, Dustin and Steven Hallett and Shayna Studnicka; 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Raymond, she was preceded in death by her parents; infant son; two sisters, Ann Zemcik and Mary Svestka; five brothers, Frank and Louis Machan, Jospeh and Emil Horak and an infant brother.
The Funeral Liturgy for Frances will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Thomas Murphy as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. with a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian. Visitation will also be held on Monday, October 31, 2016 from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. You may send condolences to the family at www.andersonfuneralservices.com.
