Henry Huston Holt, age 93, of Clayton, died Thursday, November 3, 2016, at the Hospice of Lenawee's Hospice Home. He was born May 11, 1923, in Hackleburg, Alabama to John Henry and Lula (Clark) Holt. On December 3, 1949, he married Donna Lowe and she survives. Henry served in the U.S. Army from 1943-1946 in the 563rd Anti-Aircraft Artillery during WWII, participating in the Battle of the Bulge. Henry was a member of the VFW Annis-Fint Post #1584. Henry enjoyed gardening and his family.
In addition to his wife, Donna, he is survived by his children, Charlotte D. Prater of Monroe, Keith L. (Lorraine) Holt of Adrian; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dalton Holt of Hackleburg, Alabama, Johnny Holt of Coldwater, Michigan and Freddie (Sharon) Holt of Onsted; two sisters, Betty Harris and Annie McKenzie, both of Hackleburg, Alabama; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three daughters, Connie Marie in infancy, Janice L. Barnett and Teresa Wampler; a granddaughter, Jessica L. Barnett; a grandson, Toby Barnett; great-granddaughter, Faith Barnett; three sisters in infancy and six other sisters, Frances Harris, Rosie Hunter, Leathe Cook, Roxie, Vinnie Hill and Mary Lou Overton; and two brothers, Huey Holt and Cecil Holt.
At Henry's request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. – 12:45 a.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian, with Gail Blum officiating.
