She is also survived by her brother, Robert Harden, who lives in Bellville, Michigan.
She was a faithful helpmate to her husband for 72 years. Betty was the consummate homemaker to her family. Her home was always clean but more importantly it was filled with her warmth and love for her children, friends, and guests. She was involved in her Morenci community through the Church of the Nazarene by teaching Sunday School, being church treasurer, and working with their missionary program, ladies retreats, and Bible schools. She also made friends in the Morenci Garden Club, as manager of the Village Inn Restaurant, and through playing community softball. Betty pitched her last game at the age of 60. She filled her free time with her waterskiing trips with family, crocheting, playing Rook with friends, doing puzzles, or reading. She is remembered by her family for her mouth- watering cinnamon rolls, chocolate chip, sugar, and molasses cookies. No one could make a bologna sandwich, pizza, or a roast taste better.
It was important to her to maintain her relationship with Jesus Christ by reading her Bible and four special devotional books and praying daily. Many have enjoyed spending time with her because she emanated God's light, sweetness, and a peace that she received from the time she spent with her Savior. She was a member of the Adrian First Church of the Nazarene. She also attended Turning Point Church of Adrian.
The family would like to thank the Charlotte Stephenson Manor staff for their excellent care for the past year and the staff of Hospice of Lenawee for their compassionate ministry for their mother. They also would like to give a special thanks to their mother's Hospice aide, Dorothy, for her special tender loving care.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 6, at 3:00 p.m., at Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian with visitation from 1:30 p.m. -3:00 p.m. prior to the funeral.
