Clara Mae Winkler, age 82, of Raisin Twp., died on October 5, 2016, at Lenawee County Medical Care Facility in Adrian. .
She was born on June 3, 1934 to Otto and Sarah Jane (Regar) Morgan. Clara married the love of her life, Donald Winkler on October 20, 1951 in Shelbina, Missouri and he preceded her in death on October 14, 2012. They were married 62 years. In 1965 Clara and Donald moved to the Tecumseh area.
She worked at Peerless Gear in Clinton, Michigan for many years. She was frequently reprimanded for laughing and "generally having too much fun" with her friends in the workplace.
In retirement she began gardening competitively. She was determined to have the greenest lawn in three counties. She was seen riding her big red mower 2-3 times per week. She set a high bar for the neighbors.

Clara, he is survived by her children, Clarice Winkler of Lansing, D. Jeffrey (Jill) Winkler of Wellsboro, PA, Gregory (Lisa) Winkler of Adrian, Paula (Dan) Shaffer of Tecumseh, Marty (Chelly) Winkler of Dublin, CA, Scott (Crystal) Winkler of Adrian; nine grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren, who are all above average. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Donald. She will be missed for her humor, wit and tenacity.

Funeral services will be held at on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Noon at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian, Michigan with Fr. Tom Helfrich officiating. Visitation will be held before the service on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.

Clara and Don were two of the best neighbors anyone could have. I have many fond memories of the good times we had with them and you kids when Dick and I lived on Shady Lane. My sincerest condolences to all of you.
