Tribute & Message From The Family

ADRIAN – With family at his bedside, Paul was taken to be with our Lord on August 18, 2016 at age 93. He was born January 5, 1923 to Albertine Belanger and Henry Roy and lived in his favorite place, Iron Mountain, Michigan. Paul served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was stationed at Sault Ste. Marie and then Camp Ellis, Illinois. On June 9, 1951 he married Doris Mary Sturdevant at the Blessed Sacrament Church in Toledo, Ohio. Together they shared 59 years of marriage and were faithful members of the First Baptist Church in Adrian. Doris passed away January 8, 2010.
Paul always had a woodworking project on his workbench and loved to travel and experience the wonder of the National Parks. He tried to capture the scenic beauty in his photography, while sharing these experiences with his wife and children.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Nancy Roy-Griggs (John Jackson) of Dumfries, Virginia, and a son, Kenneth Roy of Addison, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, Paul was preceded in death by a sister Marian (Frances) Emerson and a grandson, Weston Griggs.
Funeral services for Paul will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian, with Pastor Geoff Koglin officiating. Paul will be laid to rest, next to his wife of 59 years in Lenawee County Gardens in Tecumseh. Visitation will be Monday August 22, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian.

Nancy and Family
Our prayers are with you at this time. We are sorry for your loss. Our fondest memory is when we talked to Paul at our Four Seasons Clubhouse. His knowledge of history was amazing. Lorraine and Bill T.

Nancy, I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. I think of him each time I use the band saw. I am sorry that I am out of town but my heart is with you.
