Lillian Jean Eklund, age 85, of Adrian, was called Home to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, August 13, 2016, surrounded by her loving family, at Hospice of Lenawee's Hospice Home, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 7, 1931, in Palmyra, to Virgil and Martha (Byrd) Mann. On December 1, 1951, she married Ellsworth Eklund. He preceded her in death. Lillian celebrated her faith every day, by the way she lived her life and raised her family. She was a member of the Adrian First Church of the Nazarene and a member of Turning Point Church. In addition to her devout faith, she loved spending time with her family, and especially going to all of her grandchildren's activities. Lillian was always excited to travel having taken many trips throughout her life. She was an enthusiastic doll maker and collector.
Lillian is survived by her children, Larry (Cheryl) Eklund of Adrian, Laura (Carl) Davis of Adrian, Ellen (Dave) Harrison of Greenville, PA, Brian (Susan) Eklund of Adrian, Julie (Bob) Reed of Hillsdale, Yvonne (Michael) Jones of Jasper, Melanie (Steve) Miller of Fairfield, Amy (Jason) Konz of Adrian; siblings, Myrtle (MJ) Hill of Winchester, TN, Joyce Fischer of Blissfield, MI, John Mann of Concho, AZ, Herbert (Peggy) Mann of Elora, TN, Leonard (Hilda) Mann of Flintville, TN, Ray (Carolyn) Mann of Winchester, TN, Faye (Thomas) Thornes of Huntland, TN, Vesta Carter of Huntland, TN, Violet (Malcomb) Gardner of Huntland, TN, Larry Mann of Nashville, TN, Wanda Prather of Concho, AZ, Ellen (Roy) Moore of Huntsville, AL, and Nancy (David) Farris of Estill Springs, TN; 36 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Mann.
Funeral services for Lillian will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian with Reverend Larry Betz officiating. Burial will be in Lenawee Hills Memorial Park, Adrian. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian.
