Condolence & Memory Journal

I just learned of Mel's passing, and want to extend my deepest sympathies to Melanie and the whole family. Mel was my first cousin (my father, Bob Conrad, and his mother, Mary, were brother and sister). We spent a couple of summer vacations visiting family in Michigan in the mid-'70s, and stayed for several days with Mel and Melanie and their family (Debbie and I were even pen pals for a time, in our youth). I cherish the memories of the carefree summer days spent with your family--playing in the yard, riding a tandem bicycle, or simply enjoying the "hobo dinner". You made us feel welcome, loved, and truly part of a great big, extended family. It's been nearly 40 years, but I still think of you all.

May God bless all of you, and give you peace and comfort.

Melvin, I know you're already, greatly missed. I'm so thankful for the blessing to have known you. My mother, Virginia Mae Miller Druckenmiller (Dad Jack) always took us to visit when we were young. She loved you, Melanie & all of your children, we all did. It was a visit my brothers, sister & I looked forward to. Our lives are pulled so many different ways through time, that I regret not having been able to visit for so long. I pray God's blessings are now even greater than ever imagined. I regret not being able to attend your liturgy. I know I'm missing everyone. I give my love & condolences to Melanie & all of your beloved family on behalf my mother, your cousin Virginia, & all of our family. I hope everyone may be blessed with God's peace, love & joy ! Amen With Love in Christ Jesus, Rex A. Druckenmiller
