Louis "Lou" C. Condon, Sr., age 94, of Adrian, died Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home.
He was born April 16, 1922, in Adrian to Lambro and Rebecca (Robinson) Condon. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in Adrian. On June 19, 1948, he married Kathryn J. Hughes at St. Mary's Catholic Church and she survives. He was an employee of the Adrian Public Works Department until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, Third Degree. He always enjoyed playing cards and was proud of his family, rose garden, and hard work ethic.
In addition to his wife, Kate of 68 years, three daughters survive him, Judy ( Lee) Sheridan of Clio, Jeanne (Rick) Popiolek of Lambertville, and Janice "Jan" (Jeff) Bishop of Sand Creek; four sons, Louis Charles, Jr. "Charlie" (Sue) Condon of Adrian, David Condon of Holland, OH, Larry (Joni) Condon of Adrian and Michael Condon of Walled Lake, MI.; and in-law's, Joan Condon and Phil and Ann Hughes. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John Condon, Lambro Condon, and Joe Evola; and three sisters, Lena Mattson, Josephine Williams, and Helen Burroughs. There are 15 grandchildren, Louis III, Jennifer, Jeff, Julie, Kevin, Andy, Greg, Katie, Ryan, Kayla, Dustin, Brent, Michael, Kathryn and Nick; and nine great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Liturgy will be offered Saturday, June 25, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Shaun Lowery presiding. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian, where a Vigil Prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. followed by a Knights of Columbus service at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian. Visitation will also be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. prior to the service. You may send condolences to the family at www.andersonfuneralservices.com.
